  Not sure how many people shop for funeral services via Google reviews. If you happen to be in that awful place of having to figure out who do work with during your time of grief and loss, I hope this is helpful.
  
  Our 33-year-old son, Mark, was walking across America (barefoot), raising awareness for climate change and also, raising money for a collective called FANG. On January 21, he was struck and killed by an SUV in Fort Walton, Florida.
  
  Dealing with the death of an only child is difficult enough, but trying to figure out how to get him back home to Providence, RI, was a logistical challenge. Thankfully, some great consumer info was on-hand, which led me to Tom Olson, at Olson & Parent Funeral Home.
  
  I've worked in the funeral industry as a part-timer, so I know the ropes, However, Tom is a cut above the rest. He's compassionate, efficient, and he never let us down throughout every step of the process of bringing Mark home to Providence. This also included dealing with the medical examiner's office in Florida, and making sure we got our death certificates, which are essential for the probate matters we are now attending to. He always returned phone calls promptly, and we felt like we were the only thing Tom had on his plate that day (which wasn't the case).
  
  I highly recommend Tom and Olson & Parent if you ever have to deal with losing a loved one and need compassionate funeral services. They are stellar!
