  Spent a wonderful Autumn afternoon wandering the rows of gravestones here in 2016... the sheer size of this burial ground was simply amazing!

  The cemetery was in bad shape for a while but there have been new people in charge for a few years and it's beautiful there now, very peaceful like it should be. The people working there now care about making a nice resting place for our loved ones and somewhere nice to visit them. Only complaint is hard to find your way around but the men who work there are very nice and will help you find where you are going if you stop and ask them.

  I think some of my Hopkins might be buried there I was alarmed to read it is in bad shape from other review my grandfather's William Joseph SrJoseph Jr please do something! Also Whaley cemetary!

  This place is a disgrace. the City of Providence has a perpetual care fund for the cemetery that has been tapped for use in other area, mainly Roger Williams Park. i had 4 newscasters do stories with me in interviews, and I had to exhume my late Mothere Joan T. Heed from there in 2005 due to the poor care and management by the city. I re interred her in Our Family Plot In Brooklyn, NY.. Holy Cross Cemetery. She & My father Joseph M. Heed rest together there now.
